Managing Your Mobility: Steps After Acceptance
Congratulations on your acceptance into ESIHMar! Once your place has been confirmed, we start with the preparations for your stay in Barcelona. To ensure smooth integration into our academic and clinical system, follow this roadmap:
Preparation and documentation phase:
Before your arrival, it is essential that you send the following documentation to mobilitat@esimar.edu.es within the established deadlines:
- Learning Agreement: the document detailing your studies or internship, duly signed by you, your home university and ESIHMar.
- Health Coverage: copy of your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or, failing that, equivalent private health insurance
- Complementary Insurance: travel insurance policy that explicitly includes accidents, clinical civil liability and repatriation
- Health Protocol: updated vaccination record (following the requirements of the healthcare centres in Barcelona).
- Criminal Record Certificate: only in the case of carrying out internships in units with minors.
Before arriving in Barcelona:
Logistical planning is key to a smooth stay:
- Accommodation: we recommend that you manage and confirm your accommodation well in advance. Check our website for residences and collaborating agencies with student discounts.
- Visa: If you are not an EU/EEA or Swiss citizen, make sure to process your student visa. A tourist visa is not valid for academic stays.
- Welcome Days: Plan your arrival to attend the Welcome Days. They are mandatory and essential for your initial orientation.
Arrival and welcome to ESIHMar:
- Registration at the International Relations Office: visit us to formalize your arrival, complete your registration and collect your ESIHMar student card.
- Certificate of Arrival: bring the document from your home university to be signed and stamped. This procedure is essential for your institution to activate the payment of your scholarship.
- Welcome Sessions: participate in the information sessions where you will receive academic keys, access to digital tools and practical advice about the city.
During your clinical and academic stay:
- Follow-up: keep in touch with your tutors and use the email for any questions you have.
- Evaluation: carry out the academic and clinical activities provided for in your Learning Agreement.
- Participate in the cultural and sports activities organised by ESIHMar and UPF.
Closing of the stay and certification:
- Certificate of Attendance: We will issue an official document confirming the actual start and end dates of your mobility.
- Transcript of Records: Once the evaluation period is over, we will give you (or send to your university) the official record of the ECTS grades and credits obtained in the theoretical subjects.
- Internship Evaluation: You will receive the detailed evaluation report of your clinical rotations signed by your tutors.
- Closing session: participate in the closing sessions, so that knowing your experience helps us to continue improving and growing.
