GIG-OSH - Work packages

Work Package 1 (WP1) will identify the main OSH risks posed by different types of platform work across several European countries, the experiences of platform workers towards OSH, and in which way these experiences relate to health outcomes and how they change over time. WP1 will be a convergent parallel mixed-method study, in which the quantitative part will inform the qualitative part and vice versa for developing the questionnaires and the interview guidelines. By following such an approach, we will compare findings from the quantitative and qualitative data sourced and we will ensure that study findings are grounded in participants' experiences.

Work Package 2 (WP2) will explore changes for a safer and healthier occupational environment for platform work. WP2 will use the results from WP1 for two purposes: (i) to select the sample of managers that we will interview (platforms whose workers have experienced better and worse working environments in terms of OSH) and (ii) to design interview guidelines for the interviews with platform managers, labour inspectors and labour unions representatives.

Work Package 3 (WP3) will identify and describe the OSH perceptions of digital platform work stakeholders and context-specific OSH regulations.
