Bachelor of Science in Nursing
ESIHMar's Practicum, internships for undergraduate students, is the core course for the curriculum, with the highest number of credits in the program, 80 out of 240. From a didactic perspective, clinical practices, study and reflection sessions, and simulation workshops harmonically combine to benefit the student's learning process. The curricular clinical practices are shaped around 9 mandatory courses, starting during the first year and carrying on throughout the whole program. The syllabi emphasize the development of general, transversal, and specific skills from a reflective professional action performed in different areas and assistance levels. All together, the applied methodologies encourage and facilitate the transfer and inference of knowledge.
In every practicum period, each student is assigned a person of reference that will work as an advisor, monitoring and assessing the whole learning process. In the same way, students will count with the guide of an experienced nurse or clinical mentor in the internship center, who will be assigned to guide each of them throughout the practices.
Finally, the school owns its own assisting resources: the Parc de Salut Mar center, and with both public and private institutions with collaboration agreements.

"Casa Nostra" program
The Casa Nostra program is a program of the Escola Superior d'Infermeria Hospital de Mar, linked to the clinical practices courses (practicum), which aims to facilitate the labor insertion of the students registered as citizens of autonomous communities other than Catalonia, and who wish to return to their regions of origin once they have completed their studies. In no case is it a mobility or exchange program (SICUE, ERASMUS, etc...) that allows taking clinical practices courses outside the territory of action of the university.
With this purpose in mind, the students accepted for the program can complete the last period of internship of the BS Degree in Nursing (Advanced Practicum III) in a healthcare institution in their autonomous community of origin. To do so, the interested student must formalize their request, delivering the relevant documentation, duly completed, through the application enabled in Moodle and following the instructions specified for its purpose.
Información general sobre cotización de prácticas
A partir del mes de enero de 2024 entró en vigor una nueva medida establecida por el Real decreto legislativo 2/2023 por la cual todos los estudiantes que hagan prácticas curriculares deben cotizar en la Seguridad Social. Esta cotización incluye contingencias comunes y profesionales y aporta años de experiencia laboral.
