University Master's Degree in Research Applied to Integral Healthcare (MaRS)

Final project

The master's final project (Trabajo de Final de Máster - TFM) involves a total of 18 ECTS credits. The TFM consists of the delivery of a written report and its corresponding oral defense, which is carried out before an expert court and in which the student will have to demonstrate the achieved competences.

The purpose of the TFM is to guide students in scientific research, always supported by an adviser. The work requires effort, methodology and maturity. The learning outcomes of the TFM include:

  • Actively integrate into a research team or group, participating in the different phases of ongoing projects related to health care and gaining real experience in research environments.
  • Apply scientific methods to current problems in the healthcare field, appropriately using clinical research tools and advanced quantitative and qualitative methodologies to generate reliable and rigorous results.
  • Develop research autonomy and critical thinking by designing, executing and justifying methodological decisions that are coherent with the study's objective and design.
  • Locate, analyse and interpret relevant scientific evidence, transforming clinical or care-related problems into viable and pertinent research questions.
  • Transfer knowledge into clinical practice by proposing improvements, protocols, interventions or development lines that contribute to addressing the identified health problems.
  • Strengthen the professional and research profile by producing work suitable for scientific dissemination, publication or continuation in a doctoral project.
  • Communicate and defend research results rigorously and professionally, both in writing and orally before a specialised committee, demonstrating mastery of the methodological process and advanced scientific communication skills.
