Incoming Students - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

|Alt Imatge|

1 What health insurance do I need?

EU students must bring the European Health Insurance Card. Non-EU students require private health insurance. In addition, everyone must have accident and clinical liability insurance.

2 Do I need a visa?

If you are not an EU/EEA/Swiss citizen and your stay exceeds 90 days, you must apply for a student visa at the Spanish consulate in your country. The tourist visa does not allow for studies or internships.

3 What language level is required?

A B2 level of English is mandatory. We strongly recommend a B1 level of Spanish or Catalan, as communication with patients and healthcare staff in hospitals is mostly done in these languages.

4 Does ESIHMar offer accommodation?

We do not have our own residence, but we collaborate with various agencies and university residences in Barcelona that offer special discounts to our international students.

5 What vaccines are needed?

You must present the updated vaccination certificate that includes: COVID-19, Hepatitis A and B, Tetanus, MMR (Measles, mumps, rubella) and DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis). The document must be in Spanish or English.

6 Will I have a tutor during my internship?

Yes. You will be assigned an Erasmus Tutor who will act as your clinical and academic supervisor, guiding you throughout your stay at ESIHMar.
