La investigadora i docent d'ESIMar Astrid Escrig rep el doctorat en Salut Pública de la University of Toronto, especialitat en Salut Global, amb la tesi: "Salud, Dinero y Amor: Mexican Women and their Extended Families Confronting Precarity in a Canadian Agricultural Labour Migration Program".
La seva recerca se centra en els determinants socials i les inequitats en salut, l'enfortiment dels sistemes de salut i la innovació en metodologies qualitatives.
